چکیده

With the ever-growing communication demands and unceasing miniaturization of mobile devices, Internet Things is expanding amount terminals to an enormous level. To deal with such numbers data, plenty base stations (BSs) need be deployed. However, denser deployments heterogeneous networks (HetNets) lead more frequent handovers, which could increase network burden degrade users experience, especially in traffic hotspot areas. In this paper, we develop a unified framework investigate handover performance wireless hotspots. Using stochastic geometry, derive theoretical expressions average distances metrics HetNets, where correlations between BSs hotspots are captured. Specifically, distributions macro cells modeled as independent Poisson point processes (PPPs), two tiers small outside inside PPP cluster process (PCP) separately. A modified random waypoint (MRWP) model also proposed eliminate density wave phenomenon traditional models accuracy decision. By combining PCP MRWP model, from typical terminal different derived. Afterwards, BSs, reveal that rate, failure ping-pong rate deduced functions BS density, scattering variance clustered cell, user velocity, threshold triggered time. Simulation results verify analytical closed-form expressions.

A Unified Asymptotic Analysis of Area Spectral Efficiency in Ultradense Cellular Networks

This paper studies the asymptotic properties of area spectral efficiency (ASE) of a downlink cellular network in the limit of very dense base station (BS) and user densities. This asymptotic analysis relies on three assumptions: (1) interference is treated as noise; (2) the BS locations are drawn from a Poisson point process; (3) the path loss function is bounded above satisfying mild regularit...

Handover Management In Heterogeneous Networks

The continuation of an active call is one of the most important quality measurement in cellular system. Handoff process enables a cellular system to provide such a facility by transferring an active call from one cell to another. In this paper a new vertical handoff decision algorithm, handover necessity estimation (HNE), is proposed to minimize the number of handover failure and unnecessary ha...

A Handover Scheme in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks

In order to achieve seamless handover for real-time applications in the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) of the next-generation network, a multiprotocol combined handover mechanism is proposed in this paper. We combine SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), FMIP (Fast Mobile IPv6 Protocol) and MIH (Media Independent Handover) protocols by cross-layer design and optimize those protocols’ signaling flow...
